Silicone or hybrid sealant?
Both come in a cartridge and both gun the same, but they do different jobs.
Use sanitary silicone where it will see water all day: baths, showers, kitchen splashbacks. It stays flexible and has a mould inhibitor, but nothing sticks to it and it cannot be painted.
Use a hybrid polymer for anything you want to paint over, or to bond as well as seal: window boards, skirtings, external joints. It costs more, but one cartridge does the work of two.
Find both in sealants and fillers.
